PromptWallet privacy policy

PromptWallet is built to be private by default.

Last updated March 24, 2026

Summary

This Privacy Policy explains what PromptWallet collects, how it is used, and what choices you have when using the PromptWallet iPhone app and Mac app.

If you use Sign in with Apple, PromptWallet may receive and store your name, email address, and Apple user identifier.

If you create a profile, PromptWallet may store your PromptWallet handle and display name.

These data types are used only for app functionality, account and session features, and optional sync or community features, not for advertising, tracking, or marketing.

  • Your prompts are private by default.
  • Core use of PromptWallet does not require an account.
  • Prompt content is stored locally on your device.
  • Private cross-device prompt sync uses Apple's iCloud and CloudKit when available and when your devices are signed into the same Apple ID.
  • PromptWallet does not include prompt body, prompt title, tags, variables, or copied prompt text in product analytics.
  • Sign in with Apple is optional and is used for profile identity and optional backend-connected features.
  • When collected for those features, name, email address, and user identifiers are linked to your identity because they are used to recognize your account.

Information PromptWallet Stores

PromptWallet may store the following information on your device:

This information is primarily stored locally on your device.

  • Prompt text you create or import
  • Prompt titles
  • Tags, variables, categories, and project associations
  • Outcome logs, versions, and usage history
  • App preferences and onboarding state
  • Local product event counts used for in-app diagnostics and improvement tracking

iCloud / CloudKit Sync

If CloudKit is available and you are signed into the same Apple ID on your devices, PromptWallet can sync private prompts between your own devices using Apple's CloudKit private database.

This private sync is intended only for your own devices connected to the same Apple account.

If CloudKit is unavailable, PromptWallet may operate in local-only mode.

  • Prompts
  • Prompt metadata
  • Versions
  • Outcome logs
  • Related local library state needed for sync

Sign in with Apple

Sign in with Apple is optional.

If you choose to sign in with Apple, PromptWallet may receive and store your name, email address, and Apple user identifier, along with limited identity information provided through Sign in with Apple.

These data types are linked to your identity because they are used to recognize your account and keep your optional profile or session features attached to the correct user.

Core prompt capture, organization, and reuse do not require Sign in with Apple.

PromptWallet uses this information only for app functionality, account and session features, and optional sync or community features, not for advertising, tracking, or marketing.

  • your name as provided through Sign in with Apple
  • your email address as provided through Sign in with Apple
  • your Apple user identifier and related identity token data as provided through Sign in with Apple
  • a PromptWallet profile handle
  • a display name
  • profile-related timestamps and session state
  • restore your profile identity
  • support optional public or profile-oriented features
  • support optional backend session or identity sync features when configured

Optional Backend Features

PromptWallet includes optional backend-connected account and community metadata features.

If those features are configured and you choose to use them, PromptWallet may send limited account or identity metadata to backend endpoints to establish an account session, sync profile identity metadata, and support optional community-related features.

That metadata can include your name, email address, Apple user identifier, PromptWallet handle, display name, and related session state when those features require it.

These data types are used for app functionality and optional account features only, and are not used for advertising, tracking, or marketing.

PromptWallet is designed so these backend-connected features are optional and separate from the app's core private prompt-library behavior.

Product Analytics

PromptWallet uses privacy-first product analytics.

Current product analytics are limited to coarse event names, counts, and timestamps used to understand activation and product reliability.

  • app opened
  • onboarding completed or skipped
  • first prompt saved
  • first prompt copied
  • import completed
  • prompt shared
  • shared prompt imported
  • feedback submitted
  • PromptWallet does not include prompt body, prompt title, tags, variables, project names, copied text, or freeform user content in product analytics.

Feedback You Submit

If you choose to send feedback from within PromptWallet or through support channels, you may provide a short note about what you were trying to do, what was confusing or broken, and optional context you choose to include.

Only the information you submit intentionally through those support or feedback flows is included.

Sharing

If you use PromptWallet's sharing features, the content you choose to share is packaged by the app so another person can preview or import it.

You control whether you initiate that share. Shared content is not posted publicly by default.

Data Retention

PromptWallet keeps your local data until you delete it from the app, remove the app, or clear synced data through your Apple and iCloud environment where applicable.

If you use optional backend-connected features, related account and session metadata may be retained according to the backend configuration used for those features.

Your Choices

You can use PromptWallet without signing in, keep prompts private, avoid optional backend features, sign out of optional account features, delete prompts and related local content, and disable or avoid iCloud sync by changing your device or iCloud setup.

Children's Privacy

PromptWallet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to This Policy

If PromptWallet's data practices change materially, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the revised date at the top of this page will change.
